initial request
The project involved designing a thesis cover highlighting research into food emulsions stabilized with legume proteins. The visual had to reflect both the scientific methodology and the fluidity of the emulsions, incorporating key elements such as oil droplets, digestion, interfaces and Lissajous curves. The overall mood had to remain soft and uncluttered, with a palette of sage green and pumpkin orange to balance dynamism and complexity.
Answer
I designed a structured, harmonious graphic illustration featuring emulsion droplets in the form of interlocking circles, evoking both the complexity of emulsions and legume grains. Subtly integrated Lissajous curves reinforce the scientific dimension while preserving an impression of fluidity. The title of the thesis, encapsulated in a solid color, is positioned high up for a visual balance that avoids rigidity. Thanks to a nuanced palette of sage green and pumpkin orange, the visual plays on contrasts to illustrate the multiplicity of interactions, while remaining legible and aesthetically pleasing.
This approach guarantees a cover that is both scientific, elegant and accessible, perfectly aligned with the project’s expectations.
