An academic poster on the impact of light on coral stress proteins
initial request
The client, a PhD student, wanted to create a scientific poster to present their research on the induction of the stress protein HSP60 in coral species exposed to different light intensities. The poster needed to highlight their scientific findings while capturing the attention of an academic audience at a conference. They wanted a design that reflected both the scientific rigor of their work and the marine environment studied.

Answer
I designed a scientific poster that combines academic clarity with visual impact, featuring a structure that naturally guides the viewer’s eye through the different sections of the research. The balanced layout presents essential information in an accessible format while adhering to scientific conventions.
The design incorporates a gradient blue-green color palette, evoking the studied marine environment and reinforcing the project’s visual identity. Graphs and figures were optimized for immediate readability of key results, while conceptual illustrations enhance the understanding of experimental protocols.
